300 au pairs from around the tri-state area arrived in NYC for Cultural Care Au Pair’s annual scavenger hunt. The au pairs had a great time finding landmark’s, taking digital pictures (as evidence), and obtaining information and objects from around the city. There were some big winners too, with lots of cash prizes for the top winners!
$375 was raised for Kids First, Cultural Care Au Pair’s Kids First Foundation at the NYC Scavenger Hunt. Drawing on the strength of the global community of Cultural Care Au Pair, the foundation provides resources to support organizations that strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of children in need around the world.
The Kids First campaign was first established in 2003. Many people within the Cultural Care organization were organizing events to raise money for local charities so it was natural to gather around one goal. Our first project was an orphanage in Moscow, Russia where we had just opened our newest office.
Our new mission was enthusiastically received and within just a few years, we were able to donate what the orphanage needed the most – a school bus. As everyone within the organization, along with host families and au pairs, truly embraced Kids First, we were able to expand our mission to more countries as well as organizations in the USA.
In 2011, the Cultural Care Kids First Foundation incorporated as a non-profit foundation and has applied for tax-exempt status. We hope to expand the reach of Kids First to help more children in need around the world.
